The Beach

Today we hit the beach. We were actually dressed for the occasion and
got in the water for a bit but BURRRR it was so cold.
Miles went straight for the shovel in the mouth right when we sat down
again. I mean this phase has to end soon right? Beyond that he played
with Noel "well" as he prounces it. Watched the birds, at some sandy
sandwiches and "OOOHHH" at the helicopters going by.
Also placed a bucket on our heads to pass the time. Who knew you could
still eat sand througha bucket. My man has talent.

Zoo

Yesterday we went to the zoo. Miles loves animals and being outside so this was a homerun.

I am really not a fan of stuffed animals. They take up so much room and get dusty.

I tried to leave without one but since Miles' Nemo obsession (which has slowed thank god!) he has been really into turtles (CRUSH... DUDE!) He saw a stuffed turtle and "noggin"ed the little guy. I have to get it on video. Miles left with the turtle and was beyond thrilled.

DUCKS

We went to go visit the ducks and get a few photos with a lens I am renting for the week. SO hard to photograph a 17 month old boy solo when he is just focused on watching ducks.

Either way... Miles wouldn't stop yelling at the ducks. I was cracking up. At least he is passionate.

At the Playground ... You know

So brave, my little man. You head face-first down the slide now without hesitation. You say "WEEEEE" all the way down and at the bottom just before you are done you area already saying "More, More!" Below is one of the ONLY shots I got of you and Emme before she left. So hard to wrangle you at this age.  I don't even try at times. I just embrace it.

Playground

Running around the playground today and being the lovable maniac he is. "Bouncy Bouncy" as Dad says when you go over the bridge. At the end of the footage I skipped over to Miles because that wasn't a slide. It was a climb wall. He didn't care, slide down that going over every hold/bump and giggled.

Aquarium Again

We had some visitors in town the last few days (more pictures to come) and we went down to the aquarium again. Another hit for Miles. You can see he is glued to the tanks as the fish swim by. He was a handful as he ran from one side of the place to the other. Little guy will go up to a full tank and wiggle his way up the front and put up both hands to the tank and just stare.

Day at the Beach

Today we went to the beach. February and hitting the surf and sand. It makes me so excited for the spring and summer months to come. we are going to log some great hours out there and bring home piles of sand in our pockets. We went for a quick trip before visiting daddy at work for a few. I am slowly learning some tricks to making the trip easier on me and less messy all the way around. Pretty soon we will have it dialed.

You love the water and laugh as the waves come in and out over your little legs. We play in the sand and bury your feet. You uncover them and say "More More" over and over.

I think after 10 years of living in LA that I will finally start to take advantage of living 10 minutes from the beach.

I have to admit that my new favorite smell is baby mixed with salt water and a splash of sunscreen.

I am not a fan of taking my nice camera to the beach but I also kick myself when I don't. I just don't think I can handle you, the sand and lugging all the stuff down there while keeping my camera safe and clean. I tried it today and was chicken. I only took it out for 5 minutes to snap and then put it away. You were too into eating the sand instead of looking at me. So I put the camera away and decided to dive into playing with you instead. we were both happier.

Long Beach Sunday

Today we went to LB again because the Nemo obsession hasn't shown any signs of wavering.

Auntie Megan was awesome enough to bring your cousin Grace and baby Jack to join us.

You gave Jack a sweet kiss and you followed Grace everywhere. She made you laugh over and over again.

You passed out in the car and ended up with me waking you at 5:30 from your nap only to return to bed at 7:15. Needless to say hanging out with Gracie was so fun!

You gave into ketchup today. You had tried it a few times but today you LOVED It. I think it is all the hype Uncle Paul has been talking in your ear. Daddy has a video he will post.

Here is one shot of you diving in

All in all you were a happy boy today.

Breakfast Every Sunday

Every Sunday we try to make it to the local deli for breakfast. This visit was the first attempt with crayons. It was a FAIL. You ate them instead of colored. Whatever, it happens. Instead you liked to watch Dad color. That lasted a whole 5 minutes and then you were on to charming the waiter.

You were so keen on making new friends that day that you offered him up your "baba" and weren't happy until he kept it. You actually signed "Thank You" to him when he brought you back a kids cup to play with. You were charming, sweet and actually ate breakfast. Mama was proud.

California Science Saturday

IMG_3298, originally uploaded by cedehaven.
Today Evan wanted to go for an adventure. We hit up the California Science Center right on the USC campus. USC was playing Arizona today. Not good timing but didn't stop us.

Miles ran around and played at the discovery zones. The zones are perfect areas for kids his age to 7 years old. So much hands on and exploring. I can see us going back again.

All the photos from today are on flickr and the slideshow below

On top of that, today Miles has been trying to say Roscoe. He already says Coco now and then

He also was so excited about a big boy bath that he crawled in the tub early, fully clothed and asked for bubbles. that was a first. So I stripped him down and we took a bath before dinner that was FULL of bubbles.

For dinner he polished off a cup of spaghetti, a full banana and a half and some pretzels. Hungry man.

Miles now calls me Mama when he wants to get my attention and isn't always a fan of sitting down to eat. He wants to always be on the move so taking time out to sit and eat cramps his style. Tonight he would cry when I put him in this seat but when I would take him out, he would walk over to the table and cry to get the food. Eventually he figured it out and sat at the table to eat. Mama gets her way!

You are such a big boy. You can walk and hold our hands at the same
time. You eventually tire out and we carry you.
Snapped today during errands with us.

Sunday Bike Ride

Sunday Bike ride 2 weeks ago in Hermosa to support research for Alzheimer. Great to get out on the bikes again. Miles ended up taking a quick nap in the carrier. His only nap of the day (see this post)

Yo Gabba Live

Saturday was Yo Gabba Gabba Live and it was AWESOME!

It was the first live show they ever preformed. The USC homecoming game was the same time so it was a bit crazy getting to the Shrine.

Miles warmed up to the show and ended up loving it. He danced up front as Biz worked his beat of the day. Balloons fell from the ceiling and Miles lit up. Bubbles flooded the audience and the little man couldn't be happier. I wasn't sure how he would like the show but this 13 month old suprised me. I gladly would take him again.

Thanks DJ Lance Rock.

Big Boy Swing

Big boy swing for you today at the park. Today was a drool infested day and the only thing that got your mind off of the teething was getting out of the house. All day we played. Outside our place in the am. Then on to a class where you were so happy and curious. Climbing on everything laughing as you explored.

You also kept up with the latest trend of getting in and out of places over and over as you got in the boat/horse/tube and then back out over and over perfecting your little skill set. Then down for a nap only to wake to a trip to the park.

You had your share of fun today and so did Mommy.

Second Visit to the Zoo

Went to the zoo with Shandi on Saturday. Weather was perfect. As Miles gets older and older each outing becomes more and more fun.

Sunday with Mommy

Daddy is off getting his tattoo finished so wr had the day together.
The LB Aquarium was so much fun with you the second time around. You
are now able to walk up to the tanks and stare right at the fish.
You then went to Ikea with mr and enjoyed a hot dog after shopping
Now you are napping. You fell asleep so fast. Guess I wore you out.
