okay so i never posted birthday photos or videos... go figure.

A great friend took this video of miles singing at the party. He still sings "Happy Birthday" when you ask him to "sing you a song" So stinking cute!  Now he sings "happy birthday mommydaddy" as if we are one person.  I love it.

2 Years Old

Happy Birthday Baby! You are now 2. The past week you have been walking around talking about CAKE and Birthday Party! When I ask you how old you are going to be you hold up 4 fingers and say "TWO!" Saturday will be a blast and I am sure you will run around like a maniac.

You are starting to put together 5 word sentences and are telling me your emotions as they come to you. School is a favorite. Today you wanted to go right after you woke up after nap. You still like to be carried even though you can walk. You give great hugs and love your feet tickled. I can barely keep shoes on your feet. You like to pick your shirts in the morning.

Potty training is around the corner. You tell me when you go and now it is just a matter of getting you to the pot before it happens. Buzz and Woody are some of your favorites as well as Jessie. You want to help with everything and sometimes getting in the car seat takes forever. You love telling me stories and "Look Mommy Look! Over Here! Right There!" as you point to something in the distance. You are so passionate about it I giggle every time.

You are a parrot. Almost anything I say you will repeat. Hard words like armadillo or octopus don't stop you. I am always amazed at the stuff you are picking up.

You have made this year the best year of my life. Shhhh don't tell Daddy but I bet if you ask him, he will say the same thing. Sometimes at night I think about how I couldn't possibly love you any more than I do now. Then I wake up and walk in your room. I see your smiling face and realize how wrong I was. I only hope that your life it as full as you have made mine. I love you. That is one thing you don't say yet. You do sign it. I will take it any way I can.

Birthday Feature: Post Cake

Miles,

After your cake you were hosed down with a million wipes, stripped naked and re-dressed in a Miles Davis tee. It is one of my favorites.  Considering who gave it to you (Shout out to Uncle Paulie and Aunt Steph!) it is one of the coolest things in your wardrobe.

I think you knew it was your day. After cake you ran around 1/2 naked and with one of the biggest smiles ever. You giggled with glee and made your rounds through the crowd. 20 minutes later you were ready for a nap. Lucky you, both Grandmothers were there to take you home and put you down for some sweet rest.

If every birthday has as much love as the first one did, you are going to be one lucky boy Miles.

I picked up some stuff at the local party store, crown, horn blowers, mustaches etc. to celebrate. got a few cute pictures with them.

Cake Shots

For your 1st Birthday Miles Mommy made you a vanilla cake with chocolate icing. I toyed with other flavors but came back to this knowing you would love it.

The cupcakes were vanilla and chocolate as well as cinnamon crunch with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.  They were all so yum. They barely made it through the freak of nature 85 degree October heat.  Either way, all of them were made with love for you.

Birthday Cupcake

Yes this video is 13 minutes long. Yes I know it is extreme. BUT, I think of this blog as a baby book of sorts and use it to document what my little man has been up to. So here you have it.

Below is my son's first cupcake. His first birthday. His first BIG, BIG mess.

This is his ACTUAL birthday with a little homemade cupcake to celebrate. He enjoyed ever single bite of it even if 1/2 of it ended up on his tummy.

Amazing Weekend

Monday morning and I have what feels like a birthday hangover. So exhausted from all the weekend festivities. Will be posting photos and such soon. It will be roughly a week before the birtday photos are available for me to share with you all.

Kara from Kara Frans Photography was there to capture all of the moments. I am so glad she was because it left me to enjoy the entire day with my family. Hug and kiss Miles as much as I could as well as know that there will be a cute "cake in the face" shot at the end of the party.

My parents are packing up to leave back to Cleveland now. We had so much fun and as always, it went to fast.

Did he really have to get Miles this?

Oh well, he looks happy enough on it.
