Pure Joy as he was able to get the police car to ring it's siren

New Trick

Instead of constantly pulling things out of the bookcase, Miles has taken to putting things back.
Before you get too excited, Miles hasn't really been putting things back where they belong.

Today I found 3 sneakers in the laundry basket and then I looked in the crib. Legos and a few cars. As we played miles tried to fit various objects through the bars of the crib. It was so amusing. Then I found a fish in the drawer with the sheets. I can only imagine that this is just the beginning.

Monday morning

Daddy is out of town and of course miles crawls in our bedroom first thing saying
"da da da da" But he wasn't there! He will be home soon Woogs. We all miss him.

This shot is all cheeks. I want to eat them up. Captured it as Miles hung on my hips while I let the pups out this morning.

Where did my baby boy go?

I have been asking myself this for a little while now, but today it really hit me as I watched my son sit at a table flipping through pages of a book like a grown boy.

It has been so amazing watching him grow and evolve into a BOY. From the days that I held him on one arm like a football, rolling over, mumbling, and even crawling it is unbelievable how fast it has all gone.

Everyday my heart grows more and more for him, I better enjoy it now because soon he will be yelling at me and slamming doors around the house!!

Love,
Dad

Today you woke up

with no pants on! Not sure you how you managed that one but I was happy that the diaper was still in place.

Also your second top tooth has broke through. That makes 4 chompers in your little mouth.

A new friend entered the world lat night. Jack Quist Lemley! You get to share the 15th with him as a birthday. Lucky boys will share their birthdays one year and one month apart.

I am sure you two will be running through mud puddles together sometime in the future.

Here are some shots from the last month that I neglected to post in the chaos before the vacation.

Lisa our nanny that is missed is also in the images below. Shout to to Lisa!

11 Months Old

11 glorious months old today! Miles you are such an amazing baby. You make me laugh so hard I cry and cry so hard I laugh. I have shed more tears of joy in the last 11 months than in my entire 31 years.

You took your first big big trip this past month. I think my favorite part about the trip was the uninterrupted 10 days we got to spend together as a family. That time is precious.

A few things in this past month

1. You shake your head No and mean it.
2. Took your first few Steps. You do this daily but have yet to decided to walk.
3. Wear big boy shoes. Sadly to your Daddy's dismay you started out in a size 4.5. Some Jordons were size 3 but he will get over it.
4. Signing more. You sign "ALL DONE" and "Dog" most of the time. but you are trying a few others
5. Ball... you constantly are trying to say this.
6. your obsession with the cat continues. You laugh at her and love when she stops in to play.
7. You blow kisses. Your hand doesn't always make to to your lips, most of the time it is from the side of your face. but I will take kisses anyway i can get them.

I have started to plan your 1st birthday. Trying to toe the line of fun and not too over the top. Either way, you will be surrounded with people who love you when we celebrate.

Quick photo session from yesterday. Had to capture your 11 month old 2 1/2 toothed smile!

Goodbye Dear Dear Friend, Goodbye!

Dear Paci,

You have been a stand-up friend for the last 10 and 1/2 months, don't you ever forget that. But it is time to go our separate ways. It's not you, It's me. I just think we have grown apart. It am really doing this for your own good. You will thank me for this later. I don't deserve you. You will always be my third love (next to mommy and daddy of course!)

Always,

Miles

After our trip to London, there are a few changes around the house. Miles is such a big boy (almost ONE!) that we decided it is time to ditch the paci. Before the attachment gets too severe thought we would jump in now. Miles cried a bit more at night for a few nights but 4 days later It is almost like he never needed one.

Another big change is the adjustment in daycare. Lisa, our part-time nanny since Miles was 3 months is no longer with us. We have transitioned Miles to full time daycare. Not an easy decision but it is for the best. We will Miss you Lisa! I didn't let her sneak away without a picture so I will post that later.

Changes in bedtime have been made since we returned from London as well. We have pushed Miles bedtime to 7:00 and working at moving it to 7:30. This helps in the morning as he sleeps a bit longer and Mommy is able to get up a tad later than 5:30 am to beat her son out of the gate and actually shower in the morning.

Final big change is that beyond ditching the paci, Miles is now eating big boy food all meal, every meal. No more mush for you boy! We are venturing into a new era and can't wait for my little foodie to explore more textures and flavors.

Next Chapter... kicking the bottle. This one will not be as easy and it is kinda sad on my side as that really means that Miles is no longer a 'baby' and moving into toddler status.

Head Tilt

The other day Miles was making me laugh so hard with this head tilt during dinner. Every time I would feed him fruit he would tilt his head back. Other times it was just because.

Either way, I laughed and cut (brutally chopped) this video together

Head Tilt from Christine DeHaven on Vimeo.

Legos

I am a bit late in posting these. they are a month old.

Miles and Daddy play with Legos. They aren't all in sharp focus but I like it.
