Sick and sick

You have had a fever for three days. Slowly but surely it is getting higher and higher. Teething? Nope. Ear infections? Nope. Dr appointment and blood test later they think it is roseola. Only time will tell. You had mr almost in tears as I drove you to the dr. Your little hands we reaching out to me and pulling me as you said "huggy mama" over and over tears running down your face. I have never hated LA traffic more.

Now for fluids and rest. You didn't eat today and drank so little. Your fever is keeping you so warm sleeping in a diaper is the only option.

You just wanted to be held and held some more. Sleeping on my chest and looking in my eyes. You were so sad.

My little buddy I will be checking you at night and kissing on you all day tomorrow.

21 Months!

Those Lovely Locks
So this is a week or two late. I am only doing these type of updates until you hit 2. Then I am sure it will be a bit more infrequent.

Since you have moved into 21 months we have a few new things

- You are good with the water. Finally over the bath issues and are WILLINGLY swimming almost daily. I find that you are better at taking baths in the a.m. instead of the p.m. so we have moved toward that schedule instead. Whatever works.

- Eating isn't a big thing for you. You still aren't a huge eater. You love all berries and fruit and munch on crackers. I can also get you to eat some nuts and peanut butter.

- You love to go on walks. We do this about 2x a day. I think the dogs have talked you into this as they get more walks now.

- You are a helpful little guy now and take out the trash with daddy. You open up the door and help him with this chore. He is training you early.

- You are putting together all sorts of words. You now have possessive down "Daddy's Car" "Mama's water" and such.

- When you get hurt you ask me to kiss it. You also say "excuse me" on a regular basis in the correct context and "sorry" if you hurt me / bump into me.

- You still sign when you get really excited or mean something. Example " More cookies!" or "Milky Milk!" and "Play!" also some words like "crying" and "help" it is interesting to me what words you say and what you sign/say still.

- Tonight you asked me "pee pee potty" I put you on the pot clothed. You said "Diaper off" I was impressed. Then you put your hand in your pee. I wasn't impressed anymore.

- You are obsessed with STINKY. You sniff everything and tell me what you think is stinky. (ninky... is how you say it) Your Dee-Tee is always stinky and you want a new one after every nap. Ugh that is adding up to a lot of laundry.

- I am obsessed with your hair. You have better hair than I do by far and I am envious. I am living through your golden locks. you have shine, body and a slight curl. Seriously envious. I haven't cut it in a LOOONG time and don't plan on it anytime soon. Daddy was telling me you were having a hard time seeing. I then took to slicking it to the side with a bit of product. It helps and keeps us both happy.

Curiously taking your temperature

Zimmer Visit

Another Zimmer visit. This time some friends came along. You spent a good 30 minutes in the plane. Up, down, driving, fueling up. All delighted you. Running around downstairs you loved pressing your hands on the color changing tablets and getting wet at the water table. After and hour and a half you were done. Not sure if you were too excited from all of the adventure to sleep but that nap you gave me that day was so weak. I guess you had so much fun you wanted more.

2 Kids 1 Chair

Disappointed! I can't get these cute shots off my camera. So glad I took some with my iphone as backup. Maybe one day soon I will be able to get them. My compact flash card is on the fritz.

Miles' had a friend over for the afternoon. It was snack time. When I went back into the dining room with food, I find both kids crammed into the high chair. I served snack and they were so cute together. Eating and sharing food. Miles' friend came back the next afternoon to play and I wasn't shocked when I found them in the same situation again.

First Lollipop

You loved it. Shocker

Buckets

This morning you had a nice little meltdown. I had to wash your Dee-Tee and Turtle after you put them in the bath this morning. I asked you not to, you did it anyway. It happens.

So after that, I had you come with me as I put them in the washing machine. After this you went a bit off the handle. You spent about 30 minutes downstairs crying. I let you get it out. I told you when you were done we could go for a walk.

After a while, you crawled back up the stairs and wanted to play with the water. You spent the entire time filling up the multiple buckets and pouring them into each other.

Before nap, you went through some of your toys. You picked up your car and said "thank you maga" then the next "thank you papa" then you picked up your little frog "thank you daddy" Each item, the person you thanked GAVE it to you. I was a bit shocked. Your memory amazes me sometimes.

Zooy

Again with the Zoo. Today was the best visit yet. Early arrival had us flying solo for 1/2 of the trip. The cool morning had all the animals out moving around. We saw the hippo chomping down on some melon. You giggled at the sight. The tiger was making some crazy noises and the bears, jaguars and monkeys were all about. Oh we even got to see the tortoise's tongue. After he closed his mouth you said "more!"

Today was also full of please and thank you. I loved it. Swimming after nap. You were falling off the edge loving the feeling of falling.

Quick Note

Yesterday we went to the park. You wanted to play with this toy bus SO bad. I told you to ask if you could play with the toy. You did. I was smiling. After that I set some rules. If you wanted to play on the equipment you could, you just had to give the bus back. When you were ready to get back on the playground equipment, you handed the Mom the bus back.  You said and Signed "Thank You" and ran back over to the slide.

What ever chaos had happened that morning fell to the side. It is the little victories that I take such pride in. You said THANK YOU, gave up the toy without cries on your own accord and LISTENED to what I said. I could have paused that proud moment.

On a side note, my card reader is BROKEN. Sigh... so photos will be coming soon. An insightful post about how I am obsessed with my Son's hair. Yeah I am sure you are dying to read it. On top of that your 21 month post as well!

The Vet

Yesterday we took coco to the vet. She hasn't been her normal self. We were there for 2 hours and you were an angel the whole time. It was like you knew it was hard for coco and made it easy on Mommy. You kept busy with your toy sharks and watching a little Bolt on the phone. Coco left happy and we hopefully won't be back anytime soon.

Melting in the Valley

Visiting some of the best people we know, we melted in the valley yesterday but it was so much fun and we even splashed in a pool for a bit!
