Day at the Beach

Today we went to the beach. February and hitting the surf and sand. It makes me so excited for the spring and summer months to come. we are going to log some great hours out there and bring home piles of sand in our pockets. We went for a quick trip before visiting daddy at work for a few. I am slowly learning some tricks to making the trip easier on me and less messy all the way around. Pretty soon we will have it dialed.

You love the water and laugh as the waves come in and out over your little legs. We play in the sand and bury your feet. You uncover them and say "More More" over and over.

I think after 10 years of living in LA that I will finally start to take advantage of living 10 minutes from the beach.

I have to admit that my new favorite smell is baby mixed with salt water and a splash of sunscreen.

I am not a fan of taking my nice camera to the beach but I also kick myself when I don't. I just don't think I can handle you, the sand and lugging all the stuff down there while keeping my camera safe and clean. I tried it today and was chicken. I only took it out for 5 minutes to snap and then put it away. You were too into eating the sand instead of looking at me. So I put the camera away and decided to dive into playing with you instead. we were both happier.

My Friend Anna

Miles today got to go play at Anna's house. When I picked him up after yet another preschool tour, he was saying her name over and over. Had a good time without me? Shocking.

Legos

Miles likes do dig in the legos and pull them apart. Sometimes he makes the best faces as his little body tries with all his might to get the pieces separated.

Before I forget...

You picked up my eyelash curler this morning while I was getting ready
and put it up to your eye. You looked at me " am I doing this
right" I can't believe what you pick up on! Another note... Potty
success at bathtime again but you are so excited about blatter control
you took it a step further and peed while I was drying you off after
bath. Guess we have a long way to go. No rush, you are still a baby.

IN THE POTTY!!!!!!

Okay so I could have put this in the last post, but it warrants it's own.

Last night when you were in the tub you looked at me and signed "potty" I took you out and put you on your little potty and you went! You giggled as you realized what you were doing and when you were done had a huge smile on your face. After that, back to the tub.

Sorry no picture to go along with this post ;)

16 Months old TODAY!!!!

My Dearest 16 Month Old,

You are another month older, wiser and faster this month. You are still loving your toothbrushes and sign with a finger across your teeth to ask for them.
You are now home with me full time and we are working on a new routine. Zipping up and down the stairs you haven't wanted to walk them just yet.

The playground slide is your favorite. You now go down by yourself and ask for MORE! right when you land. You aren't a big fan of sitting down to eat. you are just too busy it sit still. Back on Milk instead of rice milk this week and so far it seems okay.

You want to do a lot of stuff on your own but still long to be held so much. I am getting quite the arm workout most days. You love blueberries and are digging the applesauce. Peas and corn are also some favorites. You love the picture book with all the animals and also when i sniff your feet and say "P---eeee--www!" really loud. Bubbles in the bath are still a daily request and you no longer fight getting your PJs on at night because you know that you get good cuddles before bed.

Kisses,
Mama

Sicky, Drooly, Snotty

You weren't feeling so well today. I heard you coughing in your sleep so I figured today wouldn't be the best.

We watched, um some NEMO maybe? and visited Daddy at his office to bring lunch.

I snapped this shot of you as you gazed off with drool and snot running down your sweet face.  I have been working on lighting and really liked how the window light and a few stops down gave me this.

Here is to tomorrow morning. I hope you feel better. I haven't heard much coughing tonight. If not, more blueberries, nemo and some oj/carrot juice (yeah you got some today and LOVED it)

Blueberry... you might pull a Violet Beauregarde

Blueberries are you favorite as of late. You say "b bubl" to ask for them. It kinda sounds like bubble but I can tell the difference. I am your mama!

For dinner tonight it was all you ate. At this rate you are going to turn into an antioxidant or swell like Violet did in my childhood favorite "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" I think we almost broke that VHS with the wear and tear of daily watchings.

Latch

Miles is so curious about the small things.  He spends times on latches and hatches, drawers and doors.  Here is a quick video of him working on the latch on his push-car.
