Birthday Part 1

Cake Shots

For your 1st Birthday Miles Mommy made you a vanilla cake with chocolate icing. I toyed with other flavors but came back to this knowing you would love it.

The cupcakes were vanilla and chocolate as well as cinnamon crunch with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.  They were all so yum. They barely made it through the freak of nature 85 degree October heat.  Either way, all of them were made with love for you.

Below are some shots from the cake eatting. At the bottom of the post is a full slideshow of the cake eatting madness.

All of the upcoming birthday photos are from the lovely Kara Frans

Birthday Pictures are In!

The link is sitting in my inbox. I am at work and can't even focus BUT I want to sit down with these suckers and pour over them. I just can't do that at work. So hopefully tonight I will share some with you.

until then, misery loves company. You must wait.

Bitter Sweet Moments

Miles,

Today you woke up again at 5a.m. crying sad little whimpers. I tried to let you work it out but 20 minutes later you sounded so frustrated and sad I warmed up a bottle and went to to hold you.

You took a little of the bottle but what you really wanted was to be held. Just to put your head on my shoulder and feel my heart beat. I tried to put you down after your body went limp but you could feel it and griped hard. I gave into it and held you for 45 minutes. I was exhausted but also kinda missed this close time we used to have when you were a newborn.

You woke a few times and snuggled into my nook a bit more. Your tiny fingers gripped the back of my arms and I could hear your breathing change to slow and steady. You kept me warm and I soaked you in. I knew you weren't feeling the best and it made me happy to know that I could give you what you needed to feel better. A soft shoulder and a tight hold.

Here is to a better night sleep for you tonight little man. I love you more oodles than noodles

Kisses,
Mommy

I Heart Faces Sun Flare

I am still new to the I heart Faces entries. Excited to share this picture of my son this week. Captured it when we were having a lazy Sunday. Sometimes I get my favorite shots when they aren't staged/planned.

Blog Slacker

Sorry to slack on the blog. It has been hard to get pictures of Miles as in the fall darkness.  Thought I would dig through my pics and post one I hadn't yet. It is from his first cupcake.

So this week Miles learned to "High Five" and now can sign Banana. He has taken to fruit like crazy. Eating only strawberries, apples and bananas at times.  Legos have come into play now. He likes to pull them apart. Before he just wanted to dig in the box. I can only imagine the hours of fun he will have with them once he digs in.

Daycare is going well. He is a bit tired getting used to the new naptime but overall he is playing all day. Eating everything in his path and running toward me open armed when I pick him up at night.

Also, I am hoping to get shots from Miles' birthday soon. I didn't forget to put them up! I just haven't gotten my grubby hands on them yet.

Sunday Bike Ride

Sunday Bike ride 2 weeks ago in Hermosa to support research for Alzheimer. Great to get out on the bikes again. Miles ended up taking a quick nap in the carrier. His only nap of the day (see this post)

First day at new daycare

Therese is out of town for a month on a family emergency. You are at a new daycare today. I hope you have fun with the kids and don't miss us too much. Can't wait to pick you up tonight and hear all about it!

13 Months Old

13 Months old today. You are kissing now and have added a few other words to your vocab. balloon, banana and bubble, car.

You are on the move now more than ever. You are climbing in and out of everything and you are so curious.

In the kitchen you follow me around and close all the drawers behind me. You close the fridge too. Might keep you around. it is so handy. You also can now climb up on the chair in your room and our bed via the bench. Once you get up there you look back with such a big grin.

You are drooling so much right now. I wonder what tooth is next.

And finally today you signed Cheese. A new one for you.

Only a little over a month until I am home with you full time.

What no nap looks like

5:30 and such a tired boy!

Missed nap today and didn't want to take one later this afternoon. Yikes tonight was painful. He went down at 6:15. Please please please don't wake up at 5 am!

Yo Gabba Live

Saturday was Yo Gabba Gabba Live and it was AWESOME!

It was the first live show they ever preformed. The USC homecoming game was the same time so it was a bit crazy getting to the Shrine.

Miles warmed up to the show and ended up loving it. He danced up front as Biz worked his beat of the day. Balloons fell from the ceiling and Miles lit up. Bubbles flooded the audience and the little man couldn't be happier. I wasn't sure how he would like the show but this 13 month old suprised me. I gladly would take him again.

Thanks DJ Lance Rock.
