Less than a MONTH!

We have less than a month until Miles is due! Had our growth ultrasound today and this guy is looking like he will be around 7 1/2 to 8 lbs. So right around average for a boy.

Got to see his little heart beating again today on the ultrasound monitor. Can't wait to meet him.

Carpet should be in by end of next week. Now all I have to do is pack my hospital bag and do a tad more laundry and we are all ready for Miles.

Belly picture to come!

Too Much to do

Ok so I have been so excited for the last 8 months for the arrival of Miles my first son! (ok weird to type that, hehe). The thing that no one tells you is the insane feeling you get towards the end that there is so much that needs to be done before his arrival.

I don't know why but I feel like I have a million things to do before he comes, but when I make a list there really is not much left on it.

The hardest part for me is that my wonderful wife is also my business partner and that means that she will be MIA from the business for a period of time. This situation fits the old saying "you don't know what you have till you loose it" perfectly.

So all you guy's be prepared for this weird occurrence around the 8th month cause it is uncontrollable!

35 weeks

Picture of my 35 week belly. It is really late on Monday night and I can barely keep my eyes open in this picture.

Everyone is commenting how I have dropped. All I know is that I don't need as many tums as I used to... so thankful for less heartburn!

Don't forget about me!

Roscoe wants to make sure that he doesn't get left behind now that he
will be loosing the " baby" of the family title.

Who could leave this face behind???

34 weeks....

Picture of my 34 week belly before we went out Saturday night. Hit up the Culver City art galleries and then off to a friends birthday party.

Baby Doctor

Evan and I interviewed 2 pediatricians. We are happy to say we won't be interviewing any more.

All of them were great but you just have a feeling that you will "fit" better with some.

Check that off the list....

New to the collection....

Miles has been very active as of late and thought that he might need yet another pair of kicks to wear after his grand entrance.

Practice Run to L & D

Tuesday night we had a practice run to L&D at St. Johns.

I had my annual "stabbing pain, I can't take this anymore" migraine and we were off to the ER. At a certain point in your pregnancy they don't just let you go into the ER. They send you up to L&D and monitor the baby before they decide what to do.

Okay... no problem. Will I be getting any relief from this migraine yet? Nope... so on they go to monitor Miles for 30 minutes. The nurse comes in and tells me that I am having contractions 2 min. apart. Um wha? I knew I was having some but I guess I can't count. Nothing painful but not as noticeable because of the intense pain I was already feeling.

They decide to move me to a room and get these contractions under control. 3 hours after arriving I get some relief from the migraine and the contractions. I am feeling better and sleep on and off. We stayed the night and checked out the next morning.

Evan was there the whole time being such a trooper. Miles gave him a swift kick to the chin at one point when Evan was talking to him... He hates migraines as much as I do.

Below is a picture of me BEFORE the pain meds, being monitored....

33 week Belly shot

Okay so I anything but LOVE this picture but it isn't about me is it... so on the blog it goes.

I am sweating my butt off in our garage washing some of the amazing gifts we got last weekend at the shower in prep for Miles' arrival.

33 weeks....

So we are 33 weeks into this now. Miles is now roughly 4 pounds and the size of a honeydew melon.

Beyond that things are going fast. I am living off tums, lemonade and chocolate milk. I can't seem to get enough to drink. Miles is a thirsty guy. He finds it funny that I am thirsty constantly while he dances on my bladder so I have to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes.

We have really wrapped up a lot of baby stuff this week. Picked up the odds and ends we need for the little guy. Carpet guys are coming out this week to measure and we will have it installed by the end of the month. Beyond that we just need to get the crib that is forever back-ordered.

So for the next few weeks I will be washing clothes, re-arranging drawers and the closet and putting finishing touches on the nursery.

Just when he was adjusting...

Just when Rosoce was adjusting we decide to torture him again. Okay... I did, Evan just did it to make his hormonal wife happy.

We tested the baby sling last night and since Coco is way to big, Roscoe was tossed into it to see how it would hold up with a 15 lb baby.

He actually enjoyed it... when I put it on he started to fall asleep. Don't mind that he was at daycare today for 8 hours and didn't have enough fight to resist us.

Excited to test drive this thing with Miles.

Roscoe's is adjusting...

I know my little guy is going to have to adjust to Miles. Coco will adjust quickly. Roscoe will take a bit more time.

We started to slowly put things out/together to let Roscoe see what is going on.

Last night we put together the swing for Miles. It sits in the family room next to the dog bed... too close to the dog bed for Roscoe obviously :) Here are some pics of my little guy looking like I just took his bed away. Hopefully by end of the week he will be back to his normal self.

Sneakers

So Miles is starting his sneaker fetish young.

His collection is starting to grow and kicked off this weekend.

Here are some of his latest kicks...

Just like Daddy's :)

Baby Shower!

Our Baby shower was this weekend... it was so amazing to have all our friends and loved ones together. Evan & I had a great time. My parents flew in, we saw people from Simi Valley (yeah that can be about as rare as my parents flying in) and so many people swung by we were delighted.

P.S.... Miles is now going to be the best dressed baby boy EVER (well for the first 3 months of life that is :)

Thanks to EVERYONE! Especially the Lemley's who put the amazing shower together for us.
